Ecole Normale Supérieure

With 14 Nobel Prizes, the Ecole Normale Supérieure is the “world’s leading Nobel Prize factory,” according to a ranking established by Joathan Wai of Duke University and Stephen Hsu of Michigan State University.
At the same time a French grande école and a university, located in the heart of Paris’s Latin Quarter, the Ecole Normale Supérieure provides excellent research-based training that prepares students for teaching and research careers, and contributes to developing senior executives for public administration as well as French and European companies. The ENS also defines and implements scientific and technological research policies from a multidisciplinary and international perspective.
Intellectual freedom, multidisciplinarity in the humanities and sciences, individual attention to students, and a bountiful campus life that brings together students and professors from all disciplines form the heart of what makes the Ecole Normale Supérieure unique. For more than two centuries, the ENS has prepared its students for various career opportunities and the highest responsibilities, while being fully invested in the intellectual, scientific, and cultural debates of its time.
