Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs

For over 250 years, the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD) has been home to contemporary design, where students bring beauty and utility to life as they shape the future. Composed of several campuses in France, the school aims to fulfill its mission to reinvent the art of living and inhabiting our time, revitalizing the decorative arts in response to pressing environmental and societal challenges.
In the Latin Quarter, 800 students are trained annually across 10 interconnected departments, earning Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degrees. Through initiatives like the PROMESSE springboard program and off-campus post-Master’s courses—including site-specific programs in rural, mountain, coastal, forest, and island environments, graduates are equipped not just to enter the future, but to transform it. Programs like Artists Working in Schools and La Renverse promote artistic access and equity among young people.
A public institution under the French Ministry of Culture and a partner of PSL University, the school also supports the Campus d’Excellence de la Mode, des Métiers d’Art et du Design, uniting key institutions in the historic site. With a multi-site, transdisciplinary model and a global network of 140 partner schools, the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs – PSL stands among the world’s top art, design, and fashion schools, embracing transformation to meet the demands of our era.
